It's the perfect instrument for celebrations, and adds to the joy and excitement of the day.

The bagpipes at your wedding will be something to be talked about for years to come.

And, there are a number of options with regards to wedding planning to incorporate the bagpipes.

Some of the options are listed here:

•   Play at the ceremony location as guests arrive.

•   Lead the processional into the ceremony.  This can be for the entire wedding party or just the bride's entrance.

•   Play at a specified moment during the ceremony (if permitted).

•   Lead the bride and groom out of the ceremony.

•   Play as guests greet the bride and groom.

•   Play as guests arrive at the reception.

•   Lead the bride and groom into the reception.

•   Play at a specified point at the reception.

Generally one or two of these options is sufficient to add to the magic of the day, without overdoing it.

I also suggest checking with ceremony officials as to any guidelines they may have, as well.

Please bear in mind that outdoor piping can sound less than optimal when temperatures drop into the 40's or less.

Finally, it's good advice to avoid total surprises.  By this I refer to hiring a piper as a surprise for the bride and groom.  When the bride or groom do this for the other, it's no problem, but when a relative or friend decides to surprise them both, it may be un-welcome.  It's best to avoid embarrassment and consult with either the bride or groom first to be sure it's acceptable.
